Image compression shrinks file size—reduce image size and compress photos—while keeping the picture looking clear. Start with the “Smaller size” preset or lower quality around 60. If it’s still large, switch output to WebP or AVIF—often much smaller than JPG at similar quality. This tool compresses by quality and doesn’t take a target KB yet.
With Balanced or Best quality, most photos look virtually the same. Smaller size and low quality settings trade away more detail. Compression only reduces file size and keeps pixel dimensions, except for ICO output and photos above your device's limit (about 50MP on computers, 16.7MP on iPhone/iPad), which are scaled down proportionally.
You can import JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and ICO, and export JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or ICO. GIFs are processed as a still image from the first frame—animated GIF compression isn't supported. In Auto mode, JPG and PNG keep their original format when possible.
Up to 30 images per batch, 40MB each; files over the limit are skipped with a notice. It works in mobile and tablet browsers with no app to install, though large batches are faster on a computer.
PNG is a lossless format; the tool shrinks it by reducing colors, which works best for screenshots, icons and illustrations. Colorful photos are naturally large as PNG—switch the output to JPEG or WebP and the file will usually be much smaller.
